Join Leanne Santoro, Curator, Sharing the National Collection, for a talk on the exhibition Enjoy this trip: The art of music posters.
Drawn from the National Gallery’s expansive collection of Australian and international music posters, Enjoy this trip: The art of music posters captures an era of experimentation. The posters provide a nostalgic exploration of the 1960s to 1980s through art, graphic design, music, colour and typography.
In this talk, Leanne will focus on how the representations of music in these posters draw on a kaleidoscope of sources, ranging from psychedelia and Art Nouveau to collage and Pop Art.
Enjoy this trip: The art of music posters is on display in Gallery 26 from Aug 2025 to Feb 2026.
